Date: February 22-23, 2017 (Modules 1 through 4)

About this event  
The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS-2) is widely regarded as a “gold standard" instrument for the identification of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Days one and two cover modules one through four.

Please note we are also offering an optional third day for EI/ECSE professionals who also want to learn how to administer the Toddler Module.  Participation in the half-day Toddler Module training on February 24th requires a separate registration.

Training Objectives

Day 1

  • Learn to identify ASD and the rationale for using the ADOS-2 as part of an evaluation
  • Understand its use with children of different ages and developmental levels
  • Observe an ADOS-2 assessment
  • Learn the tasks and scoring process, and participate in a discussion of the results

Day 2  

  • Discuss in more detail the testing process for younger and less verbal individuals
  • Observe a second ADOS-2 assessment and participate in discussion of the results
  • Learn to use ADOS-2 results as part of an educational evaluation and eligibility

Day 3 (optional - requires separate registration)

  • Learn how to implement the ADOS-Toddler module
  • Watch a standardized video of an ADOS-T assessment
  • Score the ADOS-T and discuss the results

If you are interested in attending only day three you must have previously attended the two-day ADOS-2 overview of module 1 through 4.

Target Audience
Individuals participating in ASD evaluations including autism specialists, speech language pathologists, and school/clinical psychologists. 

Space is limited. There is no cost for this workshop, and it is open to educational professionals employed by Oregon public schools. Registration via district-issued email address required.
